Argireline

Argireline, is the trade name for the synthetically derived peptide called acetyl hexapeptide-3. The company selling acetyl hexapeptide-3 is Centerchem, an ingredient manufacture based in Spain and, according to their Web site, “Argireline works through a unique mechanism which relaxes facial tension leading to a reduction in superficial facial lines and wrinkles with regular use. Argireline has been shown to moderate excessive catecholamines release.”

These effects are not good news for your body. Catecholamines are compounds in the body that serve as neurotransmitters such as epinephrine, adrenaline, and dopamine.

• Epinephrine is a substance that prepares the body to handle emergencies such as cold, fatigue, and shock.

• A deficiency of dopamine in the brain is responsible for the symptoms of Parkinson’s.

Do you want a cosmetic to inhibit your body’s neurotransmittors? What if you accidentally apply too much?

The manufacturers of Argireline claim that it works by relaxing facial muscles. Clients have found that these effects last for only a few hours.

Why subject yourself to a risky, temporary wrinkle fix when there are proven, safe and long term wrinkle cures out there.

Organic Apoteke uses a Natural Peptide Complex that is shown to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles for the long term.

How does it work?

Peptides are made up of amino acids. Amino acids are made by your body and supplied by your diet. Our body then supplies these amino acids to various organs and tissues within the body to support healthy function and build tissue.  As we age, our bodies become less efficient at supplying peptides to the skin, collagen begins to degenerate, causing wrinkles.

The Natural Peptide Complex found in Organic Apoteke’s rejuvenating range supplies the skin with peptides from potentized fruit and vegetable sources to rejuvenate collagen and erases wrinkles. Think of it as a supplement for your skin.

Are you looking for a risky, quick fix or a safe, lasting solution that erases wrinkles and supports healthy skin and overall well-being?

How to find the Right Organic Facial Cleanser

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

CleanseWhy is a facial cleanser so important?
Consider the fact that the skin on your face is quite delicate, then think of everything it is subjected to: air pollution, chlorine (in most tap water), and the toxins from a variety of personal care products. All of these put a strain on the skin’s natural detoxification process. Our skin needs the support of a good facial cleanser to wash away impurities and stay balanced, healthy and beautiful.

How to choose the right cleanser for your skin?
Everyone’s skin is slightly different due to our genetics, our diet, our environment, and our hormone levels. Using the right cleanser for your current skin condition is a vital step in achieving luminous skin. Here are a few questions that will help you determine what your skin needs.

  • Does your skin feel tight after washing? The face wash or cleanser you are using is too dehydrating for your skin. You need to find a gentle cleanser. Look for ingredients such as rose oil, soy oil or shea butter (to nourish and protect your skin while cleansing).
  • Does your face feel oily 15 minutes after washing? You could be using the wrong cleanser, there are two possibilities: Your cleanser is too rich and not able to remove the excess sebum your skin is producing, or your cleanser is too harsh (drying) causing a your skin to produce excess oil. Look for ingredients such as arginine, and lemon oil which balance oiliness.
  • Is your skin dull after cleansing? You need a face wash or cleanser that gently exfoliates (no scrubbing please)! Look for ingredients such as pineapple enzymes, papaya enzymes or lactic acid (from organic dairy sources) to help remove dead and damaged skin cells revealing newer skin cells.
  • Does your skin have blemishes despite regular cleansing? Look for ingredients such as neem leaf extract and tea tree oil which are naturally antibacterial (also make sure you change your washcloth daily).

A fine balance
You might have to scrub other things to get them clean, but don’t take this approach with your skin. Be very gentle. Your skin has a protective “acid mantle” which  should be maintained, or restored (when needed) by using the right cleanser. You never want your cleanser to:

  • be harsh (avoid sodium laurel sulfate or other harsh surfactants), this can strip your skin of the protective oils that help to maintain moisture levels and prevent dehydration).
  • contain alcohol (destructive to the “acid mantel”, making skin, dry, thin, weak and vulnerable to environmental pollutants), or
  • have abrasive particles (this can cause tiny tears in the skin leaving it vulnerable to infections which can lead to blemishes and other problems).

Why organic?

  • Natural, botanical ingredients which form the basis of organic products are beneficial to the health and beauty of your skin.
  • Avoid exposing your skin to even more potential toxins, carcinogens and hormone disruptors found in most cleansers.
  • Supporting organic farming techniques has an benefit that goes far beyond what’s good for your skin, it also improves the water we drink and the air we breathe.
