Organic Apoteke Vata-Pitta Diet Plan: Equal A & B

Generally dual constitutional types have characteristics of both constituent dosha types. The traditional way Ayurveda worked with these types was to have them change the kinds of foods they eat according to the seasonal changes in year. 

About Vata-Pitta

Vata-Pitta is able to digest light foods well. They also tend to favour light, easy to digest food.  They tend to be medium eaters with regular appetites. Having regular meals three times a day is very important. 

Be wary eating too much acidic, fermented and pungent foods as these can aggravate Pitta. Vata-Pitta types need to follow the Vata Diet Plan in fall (autumn) until end of winter and the Pitta Diet Plan from the Spring to end of summer.

Habits to Balance Vata-Pita

  • Wake up early in the morning, before sunrise.
  • Drink 500ml of warm water on rising.
  • Brush or scrape the tongue.
  • Do I-Yoga Sun Salutation, ideally 12 rounds of the sequence every morning.
  • Meditate for 5 to 10 minutes after yoga.
  • Take a warm shower or bath 
  • Eat a small Breakfast ideally Ayurvedic Oatmeal.
  • Eat a medium portion for Lunch, can include some raw food at Lunch.
  • Eat a medium portion Dinner with mainly cooked food
  • Do I-Yoga Moon Salutation. Complete 6 rounds of the sequence at your own pace every evening.
  • Massage the bottoms of you feet with oil, put socks on (to protect the sheets).
  • Go to bed by 10 pm
  • Because you have such a refined digestive system, the quality of food that you eat should be made a priority: organic, local, and seasonal
  • This dosha needs three meals a day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner should be about the same portion size. Portion size will vary from person to person, depending on age, sex and profession. Find the portion that works for your body. The right portion means that you will not need to snack between meals.
  • Always eat in a calm and relaxed environment. Take time to lay your table and enjoy your meal.  Avoid the tendency to rush through meals.

Vata-Pitta types need to follow the Vata Diet Plan in fall (autumn) until end of winter and the Pitta Diet Plan from the Spring to end of summer.
